ABOUT OUR STAFF . . .
Rhonda Benson MSW, Executive Director, has worked as a case manager in community mental health for over 10 years. Benson spent an additional 10 years working in the field of substance abuse. Prior to her role as executive director, she served as associate director of NAMI Butler County for two years. She is also a former NAMI volunteer. Benson graduated with honors from Purdue University with a bachelors in sociology and psychology. She earned her masters in social work, also with honors, from the University of Michigan. Benson is a member of the National Honor Society of Social Workers.
Kathleen Stevens, Associate Director, was previously an active volunteer for NAMI Butler County. A freelance medical writer for the past 20 plus years, Stevens has written for Better Homes and Gardens, Woman's Day, Good Housekeeping, Ladies' Home Journal and the Reader's Digest. She has also freelanced for the Lindner Center of HOPE, Children's Hospital Medical Center, The Drake Center and Kettering Medical Center. Her background includes work in public relations and promotion. She is a past senior writer for the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Stevens graduated magna cum laude from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, with a bachelors in communication arts.
