OUR PROGRAMS
We're here to help . . .
Mental illness is comprised of biological, psychological and social components. Although not curable, recovery is possible with comprehensive treatment. Educated and trained family members and friends, working with trained professionals, can have a positive impact on their loved one's recovery. Unfortunately, little in life prepares the average person to deal with this devastating illness, particularly when it first occurs. We're here to support you in your efforts by offering education, support and comradery with others who understand.
Family-to-Family
NAMI Butler County currently offers a free, 12-week, educational class called Family-to-Family. The class is taught by volunteers who are graduates of the program and have been trained at the state level. Through these classes, which meet one night a week, participants are taught what their loved one is going through and how to best help them. Please call now if you're interested in registering.
Support Program
Once you've graduated from the Family-to-Family program you're eligible to attend our support group for graduates which meets the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 P.M.
Virtual Book Club
Our book club selections are posted online (see link on left). Each month we explore a different mental health topic and share our comments in online posts.
Educational Meetings
NAMI Butler County also sponsors an educational meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 P.M. (except June and December). These meetings feature different presenters each month on topics that are relevant to the mental health community.
